Tying with Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) remained as Region IIIโs leading higher education institution (HEI) in the 2024 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings as announced by the London-based university assessment publication, today, 12 June.
With an overall score of 60.9 points, TAU was ranked in the 801-1,000 tier among 1,963 colleges and universities and landed in 9th place with seven others, in a list of 56 PHEIs, country-wide.

As we honor the bravery of our ancestors and celebrate the reaffirmation of the Filipino spirit, today, 12 June, is declared as a non-working holiday in commemoration of the 126th Independence Day of the Philippines, per Proclamation No. 368.
On June 12, 1898, Filipino revolutionary forces commanded by General Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed the sovereignty and liberty of the Philippine Islands from Spain's colonial control. The declaration was made in Kawit, Cavite, Aguinaldo's ancestral home.

Today, 10 June, is a special non-working holiday in the Province of Tarlac, commemorating the late Ambassador Eduardo "Danding" Murphy Cojuangco, Jr.'s birth anniversary, as stipulated in the Republic Act No. 11729.
Ambassador Danding was a celebrated Filipino magnate and public servant who helped shape Tarlac's socio-political and economic agenda. As the former chairman of San Miguel Corporation, he generated investments and jobs for his fellow Tarlaqueรฑos. His contributions to regional and national development continue to impact the country to this day.

As announced by the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) during the 4th Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU) Conference at Franklin University, Switzerland on 7 May, Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) has been ranked for the fourth consecutive time, just 10 places beyond the Global Top 100 of the worldโs most innovative universities.
With 65 Philippine Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs), TAU placed seventh in the national ranking. TAU also led in Central Luzon, in a list that includes four PHEIs from Region 3.
Aside from the overall ranking, TAU also obtained spots in three categories. The Universityโs entry in the Student Support and Engagement entitled RACE Against Suicide: A Suicide Prevention Program for Students, claimed the 17th spot. Developed by the Office of Student Services and Development (OSSD), said undertaking highlighted an intensified suicide awareness campaign, comprehensive mental health assessment, and mental health counseling as intervention.
