𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐒 | 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭-𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐬, 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬

In recognition of the pivotal role of students in shaping a sustainable future, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) Department of Research and Development (DRD) organized the 2nd Student Research Congress at the Student and Alumni Center Amphitheater on 26 May. 

Under the theme "Agri-Innovate: Student-Led Solutions for a Green and Sustainable Future," the event gathered young researchers from TAU’s six colleges. Student presenters showcased their papers and posters, tackling critical issues and proposing innovative solutions across diverse academic disciplines.

Demonstrating excellence in the Research and Development Category, students from the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture program of the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) claimed the Best Research Paper Award. The winning study on Insecticidal Effects of Acacia (Albizia saman) Leaf Extract and Liquid Anionic Surfactant was conducted by Ivan Daniel D. Cajuigan, Jerico P. Sumalague, Roberto C. Pioquinto Jr., and Jenica Loraine T. Tanjuenco.

The Social Science and Education Category saw a tie for the Best Research Paper Award. Recognized were BS Development Communication students from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Jastine L. Pagatpatan, Lyka S. Lopez, and Karen C. Gautane for their research on the Development Communication Students' Insights on Ilocano Language Use in Media. Sharing the honor were Bachelor of Secondary Education students from the College of Education (CEd) Ivan Joseph H. Pacia, Raven Roy B. Pascual, Julia Alainah A. Quiani, and Katlin S. Villaflor for their project on the Development and Evaluation of a 3D Cell Division Kit.

In the Poster Competition, another tie emerged for the top award. The CEd entry focusing on the  Utilization of Tracondi in Teaching Plate Tectonics by Elizabeth C. Chantengco, Sharmaine D. Ragus, Mark Christian E. Lucero, and Dexter Roy Mathew M. Jose, was declared a winner. It shared the spotlight with the CAS poster by a study highlighting the Geronian Rural Farmers' Perspectives on the Revised Philippine Highway Act of 1953 presented by Kathleen G. Adsuara, Omar U. Barauntong, and Jhaira O. Torres.

The evaluation of the best paper and best poster awards was conducted by distinguished external experts: Ms. Nikki Dyan Padilla from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Central Luzon and Prof. Ma. Magdalena C. Galang of Central Luzon State University (CLSU).
