The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) Chorale is poised to make history with its inaugural appearance on the international stage at the prestigious 2025 Busan Choral Festival and Competition in South Korea from 30 October to 2 November. This landmark participation represents the culmination of years of dedicated preparation and artistic development for the University's performing arts program.

To celebrate this pivotal moment, the University, through the Sociocultural Development Office (SDO), hosted a special send-off concert titled "Odyssey" at the Student and Alumni Center Amphitheater on 17 October. The event featured two performances, a Matinee at 2:00 PM and a Gala show at 5:00 PM, to entertain hundreds of TAUian employees and students.

Under the direction of Mr. Jefferson R. Manalang, the Chorale demonstrated its competition readiness with a diverse repertoire spanning sacred compositions, traditional Filipino favorites, and contemporary pieces. The program highlighted the ensemble's technical prowess and vocal range.

The concert was further enriched by guest performances from the TAU Performing Guild - AKDA and the TAU Performing Guild Dance Troupe. University officials, including Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, TAU President, and Dr. Sonny DC. Torres, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, delivered addresses reaffirming the institution's full support.

In his inspirational message, Dr. Salunson encouraged the chorale members not only to make TAU and the Philippines proud but also to enjoy such an incredible experience abroad.

"Every great odyssey is filled with challenges and triumphs. As you prepare to compete and delight your international audience, remember that this is your moment to showcase years of dedication and harmony. We have every confidence that your training and talent have prepared you for this grand stage," Dr. Salunson added.

The "Odyssey" concert served as more than a farewell; it symbolized the choir's journey toward artistic excellence and their role as TAUโ€™s cultural ambassadors. The event provided an opportunity for the community to witness the students' hard work and to rally behind them as they represent both the University and the Country on the global platform.
