Led by the Office of Student Services and Development (OSSD), the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) kicked off the Academic Year 2025-2026 by hosting a General Orientation Program for its incoming first-year students and transferees at the Gilberto O. Teodoro (GOT) Multipurpose Center, 15 August.
The event familiarized newcomers with campus policies, support services, and opportunities. Divided into two sessions, the morning segment catered to students from the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), and College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) while the afternoon welcomed those from the College of Business and Management (CBM), College of Engineering and Technology (CET), and College of Education (CEd).
In his remarks, TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson welcomed new students to their "home away from home," reminding them that their admission, selected from thousands of applicants, proves their exceptional potential.
He also emphasized the privilege of free, quality education funded by Filipino taxpayers, urging students to honor this opportunity by striving for excellence not just for themselves but for their families, communities, and the nation. Acknowledging ongoing institutional improvements, he challenged TAUians to embrace resilience, maximize every resource, and let their journeys inspire others, closing with a heartfelt call: "Make TAU, your Alma Mater, proud!"
The orientation program featured presentations on TAU's Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives (VMGO) and essential student services from various University offices. Representatives from academic and administrative units discussed international programs, health services, sports opportunities, and sociocultural activities available to students, among others.
Administrative policies covering admissions, library access, housing, and student welfare were also explained during the session. These presentations came primarily from departments under the office of Dr. Sonny DC. Torres, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA), giving incoming TAUians a clear overview of campus resources and regulations.Β
