The day began early at the New CVM Building with a parade that wound its way into the Gilberto O. Teodoro Multipurpose Center. The Opening Ceremony that followed was steeped in tradition, commencing with a Doxology, the Entrance of Colors led by the ROTC unit, and the singing of the National Anthem. Dr. Annalie P. A short but insightful talk by Dr. Leatrize Gonzales followed, offering students valuable perspectives on the veterinary profession.
The spotlight then turned to the much-anticipated VSAS Pet Show, where participants proudly presented their beloved companions across various categories, showcasing the special bond between humans and animals.
After a lunch break, the energy shifted indoors for the VKV β VLV Laro ng Lahi. Meanwhile, the second day of the Veterinary Medicine Week 2026, set for 18 March, promises a shift in energy as participants trade their white uniforms for active wear. The morning will begin with the much-anticipated Color Fun Run, followed by a short awarding ceremony and the high-energy VET Olympics. Running concurrently will be the CC Spay and Neuter Drive, a parallel activity reflecting the collegeβs deep commitment to animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.
