The first official day of the International Research Collaboration and Cross-Cultural Dialogues on the Ecological Framework for Laboratory Schools unfolds at Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) in East Java, Indonesia, on 6 October.

Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) joins six faculty members from the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) and two from the Teacher Education Council (TEC) in paying a courtesy call to officials of UM’s Faculty of Letters, followed by class observations, a site visit, and parallel interviews with pre-service teachers, cooperating teachers, and administrators of Sekolah Menegah Atas (SMA) Laboratorium, a private senior high school operated by UM.

The visit forms part of the TEC-funded research grant of Dr. Marlon B. Espedillon, Assistant Director of TAU's Quality Assurance Office and faculty of the College of Education (CEd), and upon completion, the research is expected to shape national policy on teacher education by offering evidence-based recommendations for the establishment and strengthening of laboratory schools across the country.
