Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) strengthens its extension and community engagement efforts through a Ceremonial Signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) focusing on the promotion and utilization of the ItikPinas technology in selected municipalities of the Province of Tarlac, namely Santa Ignacia, Mayantoc, Camiling, and San Clemente. The initiative highlights TAU’s continuing commitment to advancing sustainable mallard duck production, enhancing rural livelihoods, and promoting agro-enterprise development through science-based innovations.

Representing the partner local government units are;  Dr. Marione A. Gallaza, Municipal Veterinarian of Camiling, on behalf of Honorable. Mayor Joyce B. Agustin, together with the Municipal Jail Warden of BJMP- Camiling, Tarlac;  JSINSP Jessica M. Corpuz,  the Municipal Agriculture Officer; Mr. Dennise Felipe of Mayantoc Tarlac represented their Mayor, the Honorable. Mayor Iluminado E. Pobre Jr. Ms. Veblen S. Rimando, Executive Assistant to the Mayor of Santa Ignacia, along with Municipal Agriculture Officer Mr. Art Narciso, represented their Honorable Mayor Nathaniel L. Tan. TAU is led by University President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, with Dr. Edmar N. Franquera,  the Vice President for Research, Extension and Training (VPRET), formally welcomed the partners and emphasized the importance of the ItikPinas technology in strengthening local duck industry initiatives.

In his message, Dr. Salunson affirms TAU’s commitment to bridging technology and communities through collaborative extension programs that promote inclusive and sustainable agricultural development. The activity concludes with a message from Dr. Agnes C. Perey, Director for Extension and Training, who expresses appreciation to the partner LGUs and reiterates TAU’s continued dedication to impactful, innovation-driven extension services.
