Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) strengthens its commitment to student development and career readiness through the conduct of its three-day Pre-Deployment Orientation Program on October 14โ16, 2026, held at the Continuing Education Center and the Gilberto O. Teodoro Multipurpose Center. The program equips student interns with the professional values, workplace competencies, and practical knowledge necessary for their upcoming internship engagements.
The orientation gathered 787 students from the Universityโs six colleges. On October 14, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) participated with 95 students, alongside 65 students from the College of Engineering and Technology (CET) and 128 from the College of Education (CEd). On October 15, 324 students from the College of Business and Management (CBM) underwent the orientation, while the final day, October 16, brought together 136 students from the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) and 39 students from the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM).

The discussions highlighted the importance of employability, professional integrity, respect for others, workplace safety, and mental well-being as essential components of a meaningful and productive internship experience.
Welcoming the student interns, the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VP-ASA) Dr. Leonell P. Lijauco emphasized that internship is an opportunity to translate academic learning into professional practice while developing the character and accountability expected of future professionals. โYour internship is more than a requirement for graduation; it is an opportunity to demonstrate what you have learned, discover what you can contribute, and develop the values that will define you as professionals. Carry with you not only the knowledge and skills you have gained at TAU, but also integrity, respect, accountability, and a willingness to learn. As you enter your respective workplaces, remember that every experience is an opportunity to grow, and every responsibility is a chance to earn trust,โ Dr. Lijauco said.
Through this initiative, TAU reaffirms its commitment to producing graduates who are not only academically prepared but also professionally responsible, ethically grounded, and responsive to workplace expectations. By equipping student interns with essential knowledge and values before deployment, the University advances its mission of developing competent and work-ready graduates prepared to contribute meaningfully to their respective fields and communities.
