Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) started the week with an opening program for the accreditation survey visit by highly esteemed accreditors from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) on Monday, October 12, 2026, via Video Conferencing, as part of its continuing efforts to uphold academic quality and strengthen institutional performance.

The survey covered the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) and Bachelor of Science in Development Communication (BSDevCom) programs both for Level I accreditation, alongside an internal preliminary survey visit of the Master of Arts in Education major in Technology and Livelihood Education (MAEd TLE). AACCUP, an organization that evaluates academic programs in Philippine higher education institutions through accreditation, facilitated the assessment to determine compliance with established quality standards and identify opportunities for improvement.

In his welcome remarks, the University President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson underscored the significance of the survey in evaluating academic programs and sustaining quality education. โ€œWe recognize this survey visit as an opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to quality education, assess our strengths, and identify areas for further improvement. We welcome the insights and recommendations of the accreditors as we continue working to provide relevant and quality learning experiences for our students,โ€ President Salunson said.ย

The opening program also featured the presentation of the local task forces by Dr. Marlon B. Espedillon, Assistant Director of the Quality Assurance Office; the introduction of the AACCUP accreditors by Dr. Jerome D. Soriano, Director of the Quality Assurance Office; and the presentation of the surveyโ€™s purpose and procedures by Dr. Reynaldo T. Gelido, the overall coordinator from AACCUP for the Level I Accreditation Survey Visit, and Dr. Ma. Theresa B. Nardo, team leader for the internal preliminary survey visit.

Through the accreditation survey processes, TAU reinforces its commitment to academic excellence, institutional accountability, and continuous improvement, with the goal of further enhancing its academic practices and delivering responsive, quality educational experiences to its students.
