Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) further advanced its internationalization efforts after a faculty member from the College of Engineering and Technology (CET) served as an invited trainer at the World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) Summer Camp 2026 hosted by Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) from 6-12 July.

Mr. Jayson J. Elenzano represented the University in the weeklong international program, which carried the theme, โSkills for a Shared Future: Empowering Youth with Future-Ready Skills for Inclusive, Peaceful and Sustainable Societies.โ The event gathered students, educators, and industry experts from the Philippines and abroad to strengthen technical competencies, promote innovation, and encourage cross-cultural collaboration.

As one of the trainers for the Digital Content Creation course, Mr. Elenzano facilitated practical learning sessions on digital storytelling, multimedia production, and content development. He worked alongside ISAT U faculty members in guiding participants through collaborative activities that encouraged creativity and the application of emerging digital skills.

The class brought together learners from various higher education institutions, including Institut Pertanian Bogor of Indonesia, Guimaras State University, John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University Inc., and ISAT U. Throughout the training, participants developed digital projects while exchanging ideas and experiences with peers from different academic and cultural backgrounds.

Beyond faculty participation, TAU also reinforced its partnership with ISAT U through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during the welcome dinner on 6 July. The agreement, signed together with Sabatia Technical and Vocational College of Kenya, establishes a framework for future collaboration in faculty and student mobility, research, extension programs, and academic exchanges.

The summer camp culminated in the Green Skills Innovation Challenge, where participants showcased projects developed during their respective training tracks. During the closing program, Elenzano encouraged participants to continue cultivating creativity, adaptability, and lifelong learning as they prepare for rapidly evolving professional environments.
