Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) formally convenes the newly created and established University Sustainable Council during IGNIS: Integrated Goals and SDG Networking for Impact and Sustainability at the TAU-Alumni Amphitheater, marking a significant step toward strengthening the Universityβs institutional commitment to sustainable development. The inaugural meeting brings together key stakeholders to align sustainability initiatives with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and translate institutional aspirations into meaningful and measurable action.
βLet us therefore make the SDGs not just a framework that we report, but a commitment that we live by; not merely numbers that we submit, but impact that our communities can experience,β The University President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson emphasizes, underscoring the need for sustainability to move beyond documentation and compliance toward tangible outcomes for the University and its partner communities.
Through the establishment of the Council, TAU strengthens its collective responsibility to embed sustainability into its policies, programs, operations, and decisions, ensuring that the SDGs become not only institutional targets but a shared commitment to lasting impact.
