𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐒 | 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬: 𝐓𝐀𝐔 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠

Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) sharpened its faculty’s competitive edge in global academic publishing during an intensive workshop on academic book writing at the Agrotourism Hostel Function Hall, 23 July.

Co-organized by the External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA) office and the Department of Research and Development (DRD), the capacity-building initiative brought together researchers from TAU’s six colleges and nonteaching staff to turn institutional research into high-impact, published works.

Opening the event, Dr. Edmar N. Franquera, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training, urged participants to push the boundaries of traditional research. Then, University President Dr. Silverio Ramon C. Salunson, in a message delivered by Chief of Presidential Management Staff Mr. Orlando H. Locading Jr., reaffirmed TAU's commitment to faculty advancement and scholarly excellence.

Setting the roadmap for the day, ELIA Director Dr. Marianne P. Villaruel outlined the workshop's core goals: demystifying the publication pipeline and converting local academic insights into globally accessible books.

Dr. Noel J. Petero, DRD Director, introduced the workshop's resource speaker, Prof. Dr. Pratik Rajan Mungekar, Director of Research and Innovation and Director of Internationalization at Sharda Education Society (University of Mumbai). Prof. Mungekar led a session, breaking down the nuances of academic book writing through artificial intelligence and various research tools.

Following the technical sessions, Dr. Leonell P. Lijauco, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, through Dr. Sherwin S. Alar, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), closed the formal proceedings by reinforcing the University’s commitment to championing academic research. 

The momentum continued into the afternoon with a Partnership Development Meeting, where several TAU leaders and Prof. Mungekar explored prospective international research collaborations.

The initiative directly aligns with TAU's ongoing drive to solidify its standing as a globally recognized, smart agricultural university that delivers research with real-world, policy-level impact.
