Further strengthening its commitment to internationalization and global academic collaboration, Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) was represented by Dr. Guiller B. Damian, agricultural engineer and faculty member of the College of Engineering and Technology (CET), during the 5th International Conference on Engineering Design and Environmental Sustainability (ICEDES 2026) held at Universitas Pancasakti Tegal (UPS Tegal), Indonesia from 22-28 July.
The international conference brought together educators, researchers, engineers, and industry practitioners from various countries to exchange knowledge and discuss emerging developments in engineering design, sustainable technologies, and environmental stewardship. As one of the Guest Lecturers, Dr. Damian delivered his lecture on agricultural engineering, shared his expertise with an international audience, and actively participated in scholarly discussions that promoted innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
Beyond his participation in ICEDES 2026, Dr. Damian also took part in TAU's international extension and community service initiatives as he was invited to deliver a special lecture at Universitas Ivet Semarang where he shared his knowledge and experiences with faculty members and students. The engagement served as a platform for academic exchange, strengthened institutional collaboration, and fostered opportunities for future research, extension, and faculty mobility between the partner institutions.
Dr. Damian's participation in both the international conference and community service activities highlighted the growing international recognition of TAU's faculty members and reaffirmed the University's commitment to advancing knowledge through global academic engagement. These activities also created valuable opportunities to strengthen institutional partnerships, expand collaborative research initiatives, and cultivate meaningful academic networks with higher education institutions in Indonesia.
The successful engagements likewise reflected TAU-CETโs continuing efforts to produce faculty members who actively contribute to international academic discourse while advancing excellence in instruction, research, extension, and internationalization. Through participation in global academic platforms and cross-border community engagement, TAU further demonstrated its dedication to faculty mobility and meaningful international collaboration in pursuit of becoming a globally competitive university.
The initiatives also reinforced TAU's commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals by promoting quality education, innovation, knowledge exchange, and strengthened global partnerships.
