𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐁𝐔𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐍 [𝐔𝐁 𝟏𝟑𝟏 -𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔] 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲

As the nation marks the 128th anniversary of the declaration of Philippine independence, Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) joins the entire Filipino community in honoring the courage and resilience of our forefathers who paved the way for our sovereign freedom. This momentous occasion serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring legacy of the June 12, 1898, proclamation in Kawit, Cavite, which ignited the spirit of nationalism that continues to define our identity. In line with our institutional commitment to excellence and national development, the university encourages every TAUian to reflect on the sacrifices made for our liberty and to contribute actively to the ongoing progress of our society, ensuring that the ideals of our heroes remain vibrant in our pursuit of a sustainable and prosperous future.

Additionally, while we now celebrate our Independence Day on June 12, the Philippines originally commemorated this day on July 4, aligned with the United States’ independence, until President Diosdado Macapagal officially moved the observance back to its rightful historical date in 1962. 

As we wave our flag with pride this year, let us remember that these symbols of our nation were crafted with deep devotion and a profound love for the land we call home. Ever onward, ever TAU!
