Demonstrating its strong commitment to community engagement and environmental stewardship, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), College of Education (CEd) conducts the “Clean and Green Sitio Baag: Community Clean-Up Drive and Beautification Program” on April 10, 2026, in San Jose, Tarlac. In partnership with the Municipal Tourism Office, led by Mr. Christian F. Lantano, the activity mobilizes students and faculty in promoting ecological awareness and shared responsibility in preserving local tourist sites.

Second-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) students, first-year Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED) students, and Ecological Solid Waste Management (ESWM) officers actively participate in cleaning and restoring key areas such as Lubigan Picnic Grounds, Mt. Ngile Picnic Grounds, and Sitio Baag View Deck. The initiative is reinforced through the installation of environmental awareness signages and the provision of waste bins, encouraging sustainable practices among community members under the guidance of faculty members Ms. Angelu Jane I. Galicia and Mx. Norman Elynmer P. Cortez.

Anchored on TAU’s extension mandate, the activity goes beyond a one-day clean-up drive by instilling environmental responsibility and civic consciousness among future educators. Through initiatives like this, TAU continues to empower its students as agents of change transforming knowledge into action and strengthening partnerships toward building cleaner, greener, and more sustainable communities.
